P5---CO2-injection-well-at-Denburys-Citronelle-oil-field.jpgThe meeting is open to all interested parties and will feature three days of technical project updates from DOE projects, including the Regional Carbon Sequestration Partnerships’ large-scale field projects; Frontier Observatory for Research in Geothermal Energy (FORGE) efforts; and subsurface projects including, but not limited to, offshore assessments; carbon management/CarbonSAFE; wellbore integrity and zonal isolation; geomechanics; monitoring, verification, and accounting; and risk assessment and management. Subsurface research efforts (domestic and international) will be presented through posters. This project review meeting will give an opportunity for researchers to present results from projects funded through both DOE's Carbon Storage and Oil and Natural Gas Programs. Combining these two research areas focused on subsurface science will provide a more holistic approach to providing a mastery of the subsurface through integrated, collaborative research. The meeting will provide updates and results for more than 100 DOE-sponsored projects. Posters are anticipated from DOE national laboratories, international demonstration projects, subcontractors participating in carbon storage projects or relevant projects from the natural gas and oil program, and other organizations conducting relevant subsurface research. The morning poster sessions on all three days represent an excellent networking opportunity between colleagues working on the development of novel subsurface technologies.
