Social Media Comment Policy

NETL engages with the public through official social media accounts across social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram in an effort to further the mission to drive innovation and deliver solutions for an environmentally sustainable and prosperous energy future.

NETL strives to maintain transparency, participation, and collaboration through its use of social media platforms. NETL does not pre-moderate user comments on its official social media accounts.

However, comments may be removed if they are found to violate NETL’s comment policy by containing:

  • Obscene, indecent, or profane language, images, or videos.
  • Threats or defamatory statements.
  • Hate speech directed at race, color, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, ethnicity, age, religion, or disability.
  • Sensitive or personally identifiable information.
  • Language promoting or endorsing specific commercial services or products.
