The main objective of this three-year program is to conduct fundamental and applied research that will lead to successful development and demonstration of the novel concept of 'smart parts' with embedded sensors for in situ monitoring of multiple parameters. In this project, the 'smart part' concept will be demonstrated by the 'smart pipes' and 'smart liner blocks' that can be easily installed and applied to existing facilities and new constructions.
