An Integrated Study of a Novel Thermal Barrier Coating for Niobium Based High Temperature Alloy

This project will focus on development of advanced thermal based coatings (TBC) to improve the performance of coatings for Nb-based, high-temperature alloys. A computer model to predict the properties of novel thermal barrier coatings will be developed and validated. Concurrent laboratory testing will be used to validate predictions of the model.
