William J. McCutcheon, Jr.—Contractor

McCutcheon served as a data systems officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, 1983–2003. He joined as a private and went to Parris Island. He was selected for a commissioning program, and went to Officer Candidate School in Quantico. He completed a bachelor’s in computer science from University of Pittsburgh as a staff sergeant and received a commission to second lieutenant upon graduation and served in various assignments: radar technician (North Carolina and Okinawa, Japan), Basic Officer School and Data System Officer Training (Quantico), assistant marine officer instructor (Carnegie Mellon ROTC), data communications platoon commander (North Carolina), and IT operations officer for HQ U.S. Military Entrance Processing Command (Great Lakes, Ill., and 67 cities). He retired in 2003 as a captain. He currently works part-time at NETL as a site-support contractor with OST.
