Reflecting on the Legacy of Dr. King
Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a time for contemplation and celebration of a man who embodied the ideals of courage, truth, justice, compassion, dignity, humility and service.
Dr. King is perhaps most remembered as a champion of racial justice and equality and a leader who dreamed of a society where people are judged “not by the color of their skin but by the content of their character” and he took action to advance that vision.
On Monday, as we observe the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr., we will take time to appreciate the extraordinary lessons of Dr. King and contemplate what more we can do as individuals to expand our inclusive environment.
At NETL, I am proud of the fact that one of our core values is focused on respecting people and appreciating diversity -- we practice inclusion and create processes to derive the greatest value from our workforce.
As we celebrate Dr. King’s remarkable legacy, we reflect on his message and its relevance in today’s world.
