RWFI E-Note Monthly: Get Caught Up on the Latest Funding Announcements
RWFI E-note Monthly

The August 2021 edition of RWFI E-Note Monthly, the newsletter of NETL’s Regional Workforce Initiative, outlines how schools and worker education programs can apply for funding from the National Science Foundation to prepare the next generation of technicians for high-technology fields.

The foundation’s Advanced Technological Education program supports curriculum and professional development of college faculty and secondary teachers while encouraging partnerships among academic institutions (grades 7-12 and two-year institutes of higher education) and industry and economic development agencies to promote improvement in the education of science and engineering technicians. Materials developed may also be used for incumbent worker education.

This month’s newsletter is packed with updates about grants and scholarships that focus on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). These opportunities include the Scientists in Parks program for college students, recent graduates, and early career professionals. This program offers paid internships to apply the best available science, resource management principles, and interpretation techniques to natural resource stewardship needs in U.S. national parks.

In addition, the Office of Naval Research is seeking proposals to augment existing programs or develop innovative solutions that directly maintain or cultivate a diverse, world-class STEM workforce to maintain the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps’ technological superiority.

Don’t delay! Application deadlines for these and other programs are approaching quickly.
