NETL researchers will discuss transformational technologies to produce value-added products from fossil energy resources at Focus Forward 2022: West Virginia’s New Narrative, an event set for Wednesday, April 27, to ensure the Mountain State remains competitive, relevant and resilient in an evolving global economy.

Several NETL advanced research technologies and cutting-edge facilities were demonstrated for a contingent of NETL partners from the Pittsburgh region including representatives from Dortmund, Germany, during their visit to western Pennsylvania Monday, April 4, to engage with the Lab and other regional stakeholders.

Doing business with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) can appear daunting. But it doesn’t have to be that way.  NETL is joining forces with DOE’s Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), and the DOE Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management (FECM) to help companies understand more about doing business with DOE program offices and procurement opportunities.

NETL Director Brian Anderson will deliver a keynote address at the Data Center Sustainability Summit, a virtual event on Wednesday and Thursday, April 6-7, and outline the development of innovative technologies that support solutions for a clean energy future while creating jobs for American workers and expanding the nation’s information infrastructure.

North Allegheny Senior High School Team One and Marshall Middle School Team One, both from Wexford, claimed victory at the 31st annual Western Pa. Bowl (WPASB), held Feb. 26 and March 5, 2022, in a virtual setting. Forty-one teams from 27 high schools and 30 teams representing 17 middle schools throughout Western Pennsylvania participated in the competition, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL). 

March is Women’s History Month, providing NETL with a prime opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women from across the Lab who are advancing research to mitigate climate change, discovering clean energy technologies and leading teams of research scientists and engineers as they contribute to the legacy of women who have served as pioneers in their fields.

NETL Director Brian Anderson, Ph.D., will be a key panelist for a discussion of scientific achievements and the role of national laboratories in advancing energy transition during the 40th annual CERAWeek – the world’s preeminent energy conference set for Tuesday, March 8 in Houston, Texas.

Co-sponsored by NETL, the 7th International Supercritical CO2 Power Cycles Symposium kicked off in San Antonio, Texas today, presenting an opportunity for the Lab to network with partners and describe its work advancing supercritical carbon dioxide (sCO2) power cycle technologies that can enable carbon capture while generating power.

NETL Director Brian Anderson, Ph.D., will serve as a panelist at the 7th IEF-KAPSARC Thought Leaders’ Roundtable – Energy Security and Advancing Technology, Innovation and Investment on Thursday, Feb. 17, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The International Energy Forum (IEF), which includes energy ministers from 71 countries, and the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC), will host the roundtable. Anderson will speak at the opening discussion session — Energy security and moving innovation and clean energy technologies fast forward — from 1:15 to 2:30 a.m. ET.
