Site Access Guidelines
We look forward to welcoming you to NETL. Prior to arriving on-site, please review the following requirements for site entry:
Visitor Requirements
- Must have an NETL host.
- Must check in with security at the main entrance and obtain a visitor badge.
- Required ID: in accordance with the REAL ID Act, individuals must present a REAL ID-compliant license/ID or another acceptable form of identification to access any NETL site. Alternative acceptable documents include a passport or U.S. government PIV badge.
Foreign National Visitors
- Individuals who are not U.S. citizens must obtain approval for access by completing required documentation. Coordinate with your NETL host at least 45 days in advance of your visit.
Prohibited Articles
To maintain safety across all NETL sites, the following items are strictly prohibited. Possession of these items will result in denial of entry:
- Firearms and explosives
- Dangerous weapons
- Illegal drugs and related paraphernalia
- Hazardous radiological, chemical or biological materials
Photography and audio recording are not permitted. Please leave such devices in your vehicle.
R&D Tour
Tours of NETL’s cutting-edge laboratories may be coordinated through your NETL host. Personal protective equipment will be provided and must be worn in all areas indicated by your tour guide. Closed-toed shoes are required and must be worn during the tour.
