Microhole Technologies - Team Building - Data Sheet

This Team Building Data Sheet is intended to facilitate teaming among organizations interested in responding to the Microhole Technology
Development Solicitation. DOE will make this information publicly available to facilitate team building for this solicitation. No warranty is either expressed or implied as to individual benefit resulting from participating in this facilitation. Completion of this form is voluntary and is not a prerequisite to participation in the program.

The Microhole Technology Development Solicitation was requesting proposals in the following areas:

Area 1. Field Demonstration of existing commercial technology to drill holes no more than 4 ¾ inch diameter to lengths of no less than 1000 ft. Microhole drilling programs are expected to be applied to different geographic regions of the US. Wells may be used for seismic data gathering or VSP.

Area 2. Technology Development and manufacturing of tools that enable drilling, completion and production through microholes.

  • Built for purpose Microhole Coiled Tubing Rig that can handle one-inch through 2 3/8 CT
  • Self contained "zero discharge" drilling mud systems that can mix, circulate downhole, clean and hold diesel or water based drilling mud with a minimum total capacity of 200 bbl.
  • Microhole Coiled Tubing Bottom Hole Assemblies that includes MWD, LWD, DA and PDM suitable for drilling 3 ½ boreholes.
  • Microhole Completion and Production Equipment including cementing float shoe, collar, wiper plugs, cement head/plug launcher, packers, nipples, production systems, screens, sliding sleeves or accessories for use with 2 3/8 inch, 2 inch, and 1 ¾ coiled tubing.
