Gasification Systems Technologies
Systems and Industry Analyses
Systems and industry analyses provide invaluable information to program managers, enabling them to more efficiently move a suite of technologies through to commercial deployment, and to ensure that the technologies being developed are the best ones to develop. See below for information on, and links for, NETL System Studies, the World Database, and the DOE Financial Model.
NETL System Studies. System studies are often used by program managers to determine the minimum useful goals for a technology or project, compare competing technologies, determine the best way to integrate a technology with other technologies, and predict the economic impact of successful development. They may even be used to predict how that successful impact will vary based on a variety of external factors such as the cost of natural gas and the value of carbon credits (should laws be passed on carbon dioxide sequestration). All of the Gasification Technology program's system studies are available on the Reference Shelf.
World Database. Based on an industry survey conducted in 2007, the World Database provides a profile of operating gasification plants and construction plans through 2013. The World Database Brochure summarizes this information, and also provides information on drivers and trends affecting the growth of the industry.
Financial Model. The Power Systems Financial Model is unavailable at this time. However, a web-enabled version is currently being developed and is expected to be accessible via the NETL web page by June 2008.
See the NETL Energy Analysis Web page for more information on energy analyses.
