Systems and Industry Analyses
Systems and industry analyses provide invaluable information on, and help to ensure that the technologies being developed are the best ones to develop. See below for information on, and links for, projects, NETL System Studies and the 2010 Worldwide Gasification Database.

NETL System Studies. System studies are often used to compare competing technologies, determine the best way to integrate a technology with other technologies, and predict the economic impact of successful development. They may be used to predict how that successful impact will vary based on a variety of external factors such as the cost of natural gas and the value of carbon credits (should laws be passed on carbon dioxide sequestration). All of the Gasification Technology program's system studies are available here:

2010 Worldwide Gasification Database. The 2010 Worldwide Gasification Database describes the current world gasification industry and identifies near-term planned capacity additions.
Active Systems and Industry Analyses Projects include the following:
The Gasification Program is funding a research and policy initiative project at The Arrowhead Center to Promote Prosperity and Public Welfare (PROSPER) of the New Mexico State University. PROSPER is assessing the impact of the fossil fuel industry on water resources in New Mexico, how increasing demand for fossil fuels worldwide impacts production of energy in New Mexico, and how government policy and regulations impact domestic production of fossil fuels in New Mexico.
