3rd Annual Military Energy Alternatives Conference

The 3rd Annual Military Energy Alternatives Conference will explore the current alternative energy sources available to the DoD. There will be discussions on how the DoD intends to meet the responsibilities of the Energy Policy Act and how to achieve energy efficiency in the US Military. It will examine alternatives to the current energy sources and assess the viability of these alternatives. There will be discussions on the following: Reducing fuel requirements with alternative technologies, advancing defense testing and evaluation, examining developments in Fischer-Tropsch Technologies, fuel cell options for the military, advancing battery technology and other relevant energy related issues. In addition it will seek to understand current and future applications of alternative fuels, and the impact on combat operations, efficiency and potential DoD savings. This event is being held in Washington, DC.

213th ECS Meeting/Ionic and Mixed Conducting Ceramics

Ceramic materials that exhibit high ionic conduction or significant levels of both ionic and electronic conduction continue to be of great interest among researchers worldwide.
This symposium will provide a forum to share data and discuss activities in this exciting field.  Both fundamental and applied aspects of ionic conduction and mixed conduction will be included.  Some of the topics will be covered are:  ionic transport in solid electrolytes, advances on protonic conductors, electrolyzers, fuel cells and batteries, mechanisms of mixed conduction in ceramics, role of microstructure in conduction, dense ceramic membranes for separation and chemicals production, electrocatalytic phenomena, ceramic sensors, electrochemistry of nano ceramics and transport in corrosion-resistant ceramic films

ASME 6th International Fuel Cell Science, Engineering, and Technology Conference

8th European SOFC Forum

The 8th European SOFC Forum will address the issues of science, engineering, materials, systems, and markets.  It aims at a dialogue between researchers, engineers and manufactures, between, hardware developers and potential users, between academia, industry and electric power or gas utilities.
The Lucerne Fuel Cell Forum 2008 consists of a Fuel Cell Tutorial on Monday, June 30, the 8th European SOFC Forum from Tuesday, July 1 to Friday, July 4 and a Fuel Cell Exhibition open from Monday, June 30 to Friday, July 4.
The tutorial will provide a basic understanding of technical, chemical and physical principles that make fuel cells work simply, reliably and affordably.
The exhibition will offer industry and research labs an opportunity for presenting their latest accomplishments in fuel cell technology and related areas.  Fuel cell developers will show systems and system hardware, new materials, PEN elements, system components, production and diagnostic equipment, and research results.
The Forum will be held at the new "Kultur- und Kongresszentrum Luzern" (KKL) on the waterfront of the Lake of Lucerne, Switzerland.

IEEE Power Engineering Society 2008 General Meeting

The IEEE PEG is the premier power engineering conference and features a comprehensive technical program focusing on power and energy.
