DOE Gateway Demonstrations showcase high-performance LED products for general illumination in a variety of commercial and residential applications. Demonstration results provide real-life experience and data on state-of-the-art SSL product performance and cost effectiveness. These results connect DOE technology procurement efforts with large-volume purchasers and provide buyers with reliable data on product performance.
How to Participate in DOE Gateway Demonstrations
DOE seeks to establish demonstration teams that typically consist of a product manufacturer, a host site, and an energy efficiency organization or local utility (if applicable). The first “Invitation to Participate” issued in March 2007, and the first demonstrations were initiated in August 2007.
To learn more about the DOE SSL Technology Demonstration Gateway Program, see Frequently Asked Questions. If you are interested in participating in one of the 2008 DOE SSL demonstrations, complete one of the applications below.

Other Ways to Participate – Coming Soon
For parties conducting their own demonstrations and interested in widely sharing results, or for demonstrations already under way and wanting to access available resources, DOE is developing a Demonstration Checklist. Demonstrations meeting the Checklist requirements and/or developed using the Checklist may be able to access DOE support on a case-by-case basis. Successful demonstrations developed through this approach will be promoted via the DOE SSL website, events, and other appropriate venues and means. The Demonstration Checklist will be posted on the DOE SSL website in early 2008.
