The objective of the research is to develop a cavity OLED device in which the cavities are filled with a Light Emitting Polymer. Similar to a photonic crystal in an LED, this has the benefit of channeling light out of the device reducing optical loss. The goal is 5x external quantum efficiency over standard OLED at twice the brightness.
