Project Description

The goal of this project is to develop a set of advanced power training environments for a virtual power plant and an integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) simulator. These training environments will allow operators of advanced power generation facilities to gain an improved understanding of the plant before stepping foot in a real plant. This will bring together existing NETL capabilities to create an integrated training and research environment. In addition, NETL is developing new dynamic simulations of these advanced power generation facilities. These tools will be integrated into the training and research environment as they become available.

Project Benefits

The purpose of this project is to develop a set of advanced power training environments for a virtual power plant and an IGCC simulator. Training environments will allow both engineers and operators of advanced power generation facilities to gain an improved understanding of the plant performance and operation without visiting a physical facility.
