Help NETL spread the word about Earth Day 2019, observed on April 22, with our annual Earth Day Poster Contest. This special planet-centric day emphasizes the importance of recycling, conserving energy and improving air quality. The theme for this year’s Earth Day is “Protect Our Earth’s Plants, Care for Its Creatures.”
Students in kindergarten through fifth grade at schools near NETL’s sites in Albany, Ore.; Morgantown, W.Va.; and Pittsburgh, Pa., are invited to design posters featuring their favorite ways to protect the Earth’s precious plant and animal natural resources. All entries must be submitted to NETL and received by Tuesday, April 2, 2019, for judging. First-, second-, and third-place winners, as well as those receiving honorable mention, will be displayed at the U.S. Department of Energy headquarters in Washington, D.C. and all NETL sites through May 10, 2019, and will be posted on the Earth Day page of NETL’s Education website.
