Synopsis: This presentation reviews a study that estimates life-cycle greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for producing hydrogen from natural gas and coal. GHG emissions from all process steps are considered and comparisons were made between applications with and without carbon capture and sequestration (CCS). The study also discusses methane emissions and provides scenario analysis of coal-mine methane mitigation options.
