"Earth Day" Poster Contest
YOU'RE INVITED TO COME JOIN THE FUN AND HELP US CELEBRATE EARTH DAY 2008
BY SHARING YOUR IDEAS ON WHAT "EARTH DAY" MEANS TO YOU.
We'd like your K thru 5th grade students to once again share their ideas on what “Earth Day” means to them by participating in the National Energy Technology Laboratory's (NETL's) poster contest for Earth Day 2008. Earth Day is a time set aside each year to create an awareness of the importance of recycling, conserving energy, improving air quality and making our environment a cleaner place to live. Earth Day challenges each and every one of us to do our part for the planet. All poster submittals will be displayed at our NETL sites (Albany, OR; Tulsa, OK; Pittsburgh, PA; and Morgantown, WV) from April 14, 2008 through May 2, 2008. A team of judges will review all posters and choose three winners from each grade level (K-5). Criteria for the winning poster will be based on originality, imagination, and innovative ideas. All participants will receive a certificate. Winners will receive a medal and a certificate, along with an opportunity to have their name and photograph in our NETL News publication. Winners will be notified by April 21, 2008 (Earth Week) and recognized with a certificate and medal citing their achievement. The winners, names and entries will be posted in the Educational Initiatives web area on the NETL website.
